Hi Simon,
Looking for a Synoptics driver online I came across this web page https://www.driverscape.com/download/synoptics-usb-2.0-ef-camera-%28a%29 I downloaded and unzipped with no issues and looking through the setup information page I noted that the "Synoptics High Speed" driver is included ...

Re: Symbiotic recurrent nova RS Oph in ourburst !!!
Last night was first decent clear sky since my last posting. Using Lhires III with 35um slit and 2400l/mm grating I captured five 300 second subs through C9.25 sct.

Re: Two spectroscopes,one telescope.
Thank you Ken,I have a copy of Astroart 5 and use it mainly to control the Starlight Xpress cameras. Will have to look into the guiding and plate solving capabilities and hopefully
can drop PHD2.
Cheers

Re: Two spectroscopes,one telescope.
Hi Hamish,
Keeping the Lhires close to the flip mirror causes less strain on the connection to the scopes visual back, but if a suitable plate were to be machined and placed between the two, mirror casing and plate would have to be bonded together for added strength, then I suppose it could be done ...

Re: Two spectroscopes,one telescope.
Hi Hamish,
I polar align using Ioptron Ipolar (same as polemaster) and Sharpcap and I tend to stay on one side of the meridian (I mainly observe Be stars) and the goto on the CEM60 is pretty good enough
to put the target star on or near the slit,if I struggle to find a faint target I will slew ...

Two spectroscopes,one telescope.
Hi
Here are a few photos showing my rig consisting of a C9.25 SCT and its payload of an Alpy 600 and Lhires III. To attach both spectroscopes together I have used a Baader flip mirror which is more than capable of bearing the weight of both instruments, the Lhires is equipped with the faceplate ...

Re: Symbiotic recurrent nova RS Oph in ourburst !!!
Hi Robin,
Rather than hijack this thread I will post a few photos of my setup in the "Spectroscopes and Software" section later today. I will add though that there is a lot of weight with the combined spectroscopes/cameras and because of that I prefer to use the CEM60 rather than the EQ6 ...

Re: Symbiotic recurrent nova RS Oph in ourburst !!!
Having both my Alpy 600 and Lhires III attached to C9.25 via flip mirror I managed to acquire lo and hi res spectra last night (12th). Acquisition time for Alpy working at f/6,90 seconds (9x10sec) and
acquisition time for Lhires 21 minutes (7x180sec) both instruments with 23 micron slit.

Re: Symbiotic recurrent nova RS Oph in ourburst !!!
My attempt last night (10th) using my C9.25 and Lhires III with 23m slit riding on a CEM60,captured 9x60sec images. I chose Vega as reference star, and RS Oph profile normalized at wavelength 6498 to 6503. Used ISIS to carry out calibration and Vspec to create chart.

This is my very first attempt at capturing spectra of a supernova, this was taken on the night of 11/12th using ALPY 600,SX TRIUS 825 on a C9.25 with 6.3x reducer. 4x900sec calibrated using Ar/Neon lamp in calibration module. Also signed up to Gelato this evening and received this ...
