Re: First steps with the LISA: question about the best focus

Re: Question related to the instrumental response correction

Replying to myself :D

After checking carefully some pixels values, the offsets and dark are subtracted.

No.Bits per pixel 03 : NAXIS = 2 /No.dimensions 04 : NAXIS1...

Re: First steps with the LISA: question about the best focus

Dear Rainer, Thanks for replying! Actually both spectra are obtained with the exact same focus. The difference is that the first one was obtained with a 15s exposure on a bright star , while the second one is obtained after 300s on a mv~9 Be star. The seeing was really poor and hence affected more t...

First steps with the LISA: question about the best focus.

Dear all, I have recently bought a second-hand LISA in pretty good state, the idea behind is that for faint targets the 35um slit is better adapted to the 2m F.L. of my instrument than the 23um slit of the ALPY, considering the large variance of seeing that I have on my observation site. The first a...

Question related to the instrumental response correction

Dear all, I have one question regarding the correction of the instrumental response. In the "Assistant réponse" there is a flat field image calculation. For what I understand the series of flat to be indicated is the raw one, i.e. not treated. Can you confirm that the dark/offsets are subt...

HD276886: outburst?

Dear all, I haven't posted for a long time and I'm currently slowly coming back to astro after a quite long absence. Yesterday was the first spectro night since about a year I think, and I started to point some Be stars, extracted from the ARAS-BeAM list of Be "to observe". One of the targ...

My modest contribution for TCrB, taken a week ago with the N400 f5 and Alpy.

Re: Urgent! NSv 6690 imminent SMBHB merger confirmation nee

Just played a bit with the telluric lines removal using a simple polyfit to extract the low frequency spectrum and then the HF one which I use as a divider to the uncorrected NSV spectrum. The correction is done without any loss of resolution. The lower right plots are blurred *after* calculating th...
