Very interesting all that :)
I am a fan of spectro polarimetry :) Polarization is a fascinating property of light. Too bad this field is not explored more by amateurs.
After some convincing tests in high resolution on circular polarization (see the link given by Olivier above or this one ...

Here's a new spectrum of T CrB with my little 72mm refractor. (A bit of a challenge ) In red, for comparison, a spectrum from a year ago.

The following spectrum of GK Per was obtained on 22 January at 20:57 UT.
Star'Ex LR (300l/mm, 80x80, 19microns slit) + Mak127
