Re: Chromospheric active stars: a key program for amateurs

Thanks Olivier for the image. In order to evaluate how to develop the Sindex pipeline and building a kind of DB, Christian, Olivier, others, could you please send me an example of your 1D extracted and wavelength-calibrated H&K spectrum ? I will see how I can proceed these spectra coherently to ...

Re: Chromospheric active stars: a key program for amateurs

Dear all, First of all, I would like to congratulate you for your enthusiasm in this project and especially your very high reactivity in performing outstanding observations, using impressively high-resolution spectrographs. All of this is really encouraging and should be further explored. You have a...

Re: New ESP spectrograph R=30000

Hi Olivier, If the P-cygni profile of Halpha match fairly well between SOPHIE or even HARPS-N and ESP, it does not mean the spectral resolution of ESP is as high as 75k or 110k. It just means the H-alpha profile is broad enough that it is not dominated by the resolution of the spectrograph. Even if ...

Re: New ESP spectrograph R=30000

Hi Olivier, Very nice. You start to reach what I call moderate spectroscopic resolution ;-) Not so bad ! But for cosmologists, this is extremely high resolution. Note that the SOPHIE spectrum I took a couple of years ago was in the high-resolution mode, hence R=75k. Do you also have the HARPS-N one,...

Re: P cygni at R=110k

Dear all, Since the Halpha profile present very similar profile, I checked other spectral domains which present some differences: line1.jpg line2.jpg line3.jpg line4.jpg I have no idea why those lines present a different profile between the two spectra, while the Halpha is the same. Maybe the monito...

P cygni at R=110k

Dear all, Following the observation of P cygni by all the spectrographs this summer during the OHP workshop, where I observed the star with SOPHIE, I renew the observation last night with the HARPS-N spectrograph. This spectrograph is mounted at the 3.6-m telescope TNG, the italian telescope at La P...
