Re: Nova Cep 2013

I agree with the C II identification, seems a reasonable transition and it's reported often in literature.

For OHP spectro party, I haven't planned anything so far for next summer, who knows :)

Re: Nova Cep 2013

At 7135A usually an Argon line [Ar III] is strong in late spectra. It could be, given the fast decline of the nova. Nice result from last spectrum Francois, no more Fe emission.

Re: Nova Cep 2013

Really nice spectra!
The magnitude is raising pretty fast sadly. Greetings to everybody!

Re: Webcam for LHIRES III?

Thanks Paolo, the images are very nice, but we are low on budget :( I am going to turn this in a very sad discussion, but we hope to spend less the 200€. I was looking on the web and it's really hard to find something with that quality as you show. However, grazie :)

Webcam for LHIRES III?

Hello everyone! I have a question: what is a good webcam\camera for guiding? At the department in Pisa we students finally have the chance to use a C11, and prof.Shore has a Lhires III and camera, we only need something for the guiding. Thanks!

Blue range and [Ne III] - N Mon 2012

If you are curious and can push the blue wavelenght limit of the spectrograph, at 3869A the [Ne III] line emission is getting stronger. This confirms (again) it is a ONe nova.

Re: Nova Monocerotis 2012

This is a very bad image but hopefully it's clear: the spectrum changes, week per week (just one comparison now), are clear.
