Re: Anyone tried Zeiss reflective gratings?

Compliments of the season Bernard. Re: Vitesse radiale minimale.

Hello Joan,

Not wanting to hijack the thread, I remember you mentioned working on a fibre head for your wonderful Nou_T echelle and wondered if you had any success in getting the fibre feed to work?

Re: Star'Ex spectrograph

Absolutely fantastic Christian! I will certainly be putting an order in for the V2 kit, R=40000 is amazing for such a lightweight, DIY project. I also saw you could get down to 15th magnitude with larger scope and wider slit. The ability to travel with a lighter scope and set up is very appealing al...

Total Lunar Eclipse 26th May 2021

We were graced with a beautiful lunar eclipse this week and I took the opportunity to record the filtering effect of the atmosphere on the solar spectrum. I used the LhiresIII with the 150l/mm grating on a C11, 314L+ was the imaging camera. I include a pre-eclipse ;) , and a mid-totality image too, ...

Superb results Joan. 16 bit CMOS spectroscopy has arrived!

You still use the 85mm lens here, how does the camera handle a longer lens?

Re: Python introduction for astro and spectro

Matthieu,

Nice job, thank you for taking the time to document your method!
I have been using Anaconda on an Ubuntu laptop and had some success. Python is the way to go!
