Re: PlotSpectra update - V1.5.2
Thanks Tim - great update. On another matter, I've been trying to contact you on the likelihood of picking your brains on your echelle design. I have been loosely contemplating something similar (a basic telescope mounted echelle, behind a pre-existing guide module) and left you a couple of private ...

Nova Oph (PNV J17184504-2454221)
A follow up to ATel # 10959 (http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=10959) taken last night under very challenging conditions including: airmass +3, dusk sky, city pollution, and my heat radiating roof line (corrugated iron within a few metres of my backyard observatory). According to Jay Strader ...

Re: TCP J05074264+2447555
Really nice work guys - well done. Very interesting indeed. Paulo - could you elaborate on your before / after observations and differences with extinction values applied? I've not heard of or used the "IRSA Dust service" before. It might be a good discussion point (perhaps in a difference...

Re: Difficulty with LhiresIII H-Beta calibration-2400 l/mm G
HI James, Attached is what I use for H-beta with my Lhires + 2400 + relco (note, there are variations in these bulbs). I hope it helps. Also, Manfred Schwartz has a wonderful resource on his web site which I'm sure he won't mind me sharing: http://www.astrophoto.at/calibration-arne.html Paul Lhires_...

Re: Nova ASASSN-17mt ?
A quick screen shot of ASASSN-17mt, taken a week after the confirmation spectra. Given this target's position low in the eastern sky before dawn, and the fact that 17mt is likely to be a slow developing classical nova, this will probably be the last spectrum (from me at least). Re: Bright nova in Centaurus
An update on ASASSN-17gk.
Starting to get low in the south west, but as it enters the nebula phase, some interesting features (N II) changing over the course of 24 hours (resolvable even with the Alpy).
