Re: fits-keywords for STAROS database and SpcAudace
The next update will offer greater flexibility. For example, BESS_ESPR will be optional. Please note, however, that it is primarily up to the software designers to ensure that the data produced is as compatible as possible with the analysis applications (BESS, STAROS, ...), and not the other way ro...

Re: fits-keywords for STAROS database and SpcAudace
JD_OBS is also not part of the BeSS standard and so is not defined. Only DATE_OBS is required in the BeSS standard so STAROS should be generating it from that if it is required. I recommend contacting the STAROS team and asking them what standard they are using and why they are not using the BeSS st...

Re: fits-keywords for STAROS database and SpcAudace
Hi Erik, STAROS should not be asking for BSS_ITRP if BSS_ESRP is present BSS_ESRP is the resolution measured in the actual spectrum BSS_ITRP is the resolution given in the instrument description (which is added by BeSS if BSS_ESRP is not present) From the definitions in the BeSS fits standard docume...

Re: supernova SN 2023ixf in M101 !
A low resolution (ALPY600) spectrum last night (poor conditions, high cloud, twilight 20230521_sn2023ixf_guider.png gives a good SNID match to SN 1998S (type IIn) sn2023ixf_20230521_SNIDfit.png downloadable from the BAA database https://britastro.org/specdb/data_graph.php?obs_id=13774 It could be br...

Re: supernova SN 2023ixf in M101 !
It is now mag 12 and still rising. No amateur spectra yet? I am surprised. (Only clouds for me since discovery)

Re: possible supernova AT2023ijd in NGC4568
Now confirmed as type II (LT SPRAT), Also consistent with a low resolution ALPY200 spectrum taken last night in poor conditions (twilight, high cloud) which shows a blue continuum and no obvious Si II absorption

possible supernova AT2023ijd in NGC4568
A possible supernova AT2023ijd in NGC4568 just announced by the ASAS-SN team. https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2023ijd It appeared within the last 24 hours so caught early at mag 16.8 but is likely to be brightening fast and at only ~18Mpc this could get pretty bright (A type 1a could reach ~mag 12) C...

Here is a transient with a very similar spectrum which I classified as a CV

There is a faint blue star visible in the DSS archive image for this object and also for your object
