Re: Nova in Sco - ASASSN-21lk

The identification in this kind of spectrum is not easy due to the width of the lines and blends. From the identification of Fe II (42), the knowledge of the development of a nova spectrum just after maximum luminosity (and the physics of the nova event), the guidelines for further identification ar...

Re: Nova in Sco - ASASSN-21lk

Hamish: you can send your fit files to francoismathieu.teyssier at gmail.com and copy to arasdatabase at gmail.com. https://aras-database.github.io/database/novasco2021b.html Note: I don't know who invented this wrong idea that Aras Database could be ephemeris and in what intent. This not friendly. ...

Excellent!
I recall the summary of observations of this very peculiar dwarf nova written by David this last issue of the newsletter:

Re: Further outburst of the (DN) Dwarf Nova TCPJ21040470+463

Congratulations! There's also a spectrum obtained by Paolo Berardi at R = 5000. I moved the topic to the Cataclysmic Stars section as the outburst is not a nova event. The terminology is confusing since it is based on the photometric behavior well before than the phenomena were understand. Moreover,...

Re: Hi from Germany Frankfurt area

Dear Jürgen, Georg, Dominik, Hajo, Welcome! As observing program we propose Eruptive stars : noticeably symbiotics and novae. Impressive spectra, short and long term variations (orbital, outbursts ...), interesting in high and low resolution , many collaboration with professional teams (~ 10) and pu...

Re: Rebrightening of V1047 Cen - please observe!

Topic moved to Cataclysmics section

Interesting brightning. I see V = 14.5 on June 28th in AAVSO database.
Still very faint for a spectrum with correct SNR

Of course, if the target become sufficiently bright, a page will be opened in ARAS database
