Here is nova sct on the 10th captured with my echelle spectrograph at R = 12000. My attempt at this star on Aug 10th. About as low as I can reach from my location (unless I cut the tops off some of our trees). Aug 2 - Balmer lines have increased significantly!
Here are my spectra so far converted to aprox. flux using AAVSO data.

Was able to get spectra the last two nights (29th and 30th) with my new echelle. Halpha still dropping.
But not much change at Hbeta.

Christian, You are right about the sampling. I am slightly under sampled for some of the orders. To maximize S/N I designed for a sampling just over 2 for 2x2 binning and a 23 um slit but the actual line widths seam to be a bit better than the design goal.
