Be star V361 Per h-alpha evolution

Post by umberto sollecchia »

Hi all, recently I'm dedicated to the monitoring of faint Be stars with a low power resolving spectrograph, with the aim to verify any large changes.
I would like to report a possible h-alpha line evolution (decrease) for V361 Per. Here you find a comparison with a previous BeSS spectrum.

Can anyone confirm it with a better resolution spectrum?

Thank you.

Ciao Umberto, I can confirm the H-alpha line intensity decreasing with a R ~6000 (noisy) spectral profile:

You have discovered several faint Be profile changes, congratulations!

I have been waiting 2 week for clear skies to confirm this, but I see Paolo beat me to it
Anyway, here is a second confirmation at R ~5500. Very similar to Paolo's, perhaps even showing the narrow emission lines in the core of the weak H alpha absorption line
