Can anyone measure BD+55 521 status ?

Post by Robin Leadbeater »

In 2008 I measured BD+55 521 (Vmag 10.6) with the Star Analyser and found that it was possibly more active than in 2003 (The only other spectra in BeSS)

At that time there were no amaturs who could confirm this at higher resolution but it would now be possible with the LISA. Would anyone like to check this star?

Cheers
Robin

Hello Robin,
I tried yesterday night to catch this star without success. Transparency is not good these days, just enough for 8 mag star spectra no more. Look at the discrepency of the signal on a FF cam on the last two nights http://arasbeam.free.fr/spip.php?page=b ... toile=1964
But It is in the range of my setup for an expected SNR 10 to 15. So i won't give up, just because of you :-)

Thanks for trying Thierry,
It sounds like it is one for a cold clear frosty night.
This is what I got with the Star Analyser in 2008
