- Exposure time: 300s
- Number of spectra: 31
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Instrument: C9.25 - Lhires III 1200 - SXVR-H694

Paolo your spectra are really exceptionnal of quality!

Fine setup Lhires III + C9. Could you precise the slit width (23 microns, 35 microns, ...) ?

I'm glad for this Christian, your advices in OHP were very useful!
I'm quite happy with the setup. C9 is still easily manageable and it seems to me has a sufficent light collection.

For the efficiency I think most comes from the use of the sensor ICX694 in binning 2x2 mode and 35 micron slit (used up to now for my RR lyr observation). About resolution, I have noticed a considerable difference between the results obtained with the 35 um and 23 um slit aperture. But in my test in the same evening on AZ Cas I have detected a light loss of about 30%. I'm actually trying to capture an AZ Cas spectrum with 23 microns slit (2400 l/mm grating). When I reduce data I'll show you the result. I would like to know if, with AZ Cas, it's worth using the 23 um slit with my setup.

See you!
Paolo
