Type Ia supernovae can be further classified using spectra at maximum light.
The "Branch" classification (Core Normal, Shallow Silicon, Broad Line, Cool) is based on the pseudo equivalent widths of the Si II 5972 and Si II 6355 lines. The pseudo EW and Velocity of the Si II 6355 line can also be used to identify normal and high velocity classes. Based on these systems SN2019ein is Broad Lined, High Velocity and SN2019np is Normal. (See positions overlaid on the graphs from "THE SPECTROSCOPIC DIVERSITY OF TYPE Ia SUPERNOVAE" Blondin et al )
