weather is turning bad but I had 30min window on the nova and I was able to get hd196544 as reference. SO I got my 9th night spectrum of the nova...

Equipment is still the small Televue 85mm refractor and the Alpy 600 spectrograph with Atik Titan for guiding and Atik 460ex for acquisition. Spectroscopy is great because it can be done during full Moon and with foggy skies:

Halpha is actually continuing to grow drastically!

I did not want to miss this Nova. Here is my contribution to the campaign:

Special about this spectrum is, that it was recorded with my home built echelle, not as an echelle spectrum, but in the low resolution mode, bypassing the echelle grating. My echelle suffers from different drawbacks, poor grating efficiency, low camera efficiency, poor fiber transmission, small telescope (Vixen VC200), in addition hazy sky, so I had to switch to the low resolution mode (R = 650).
A comparison with a spectrum taken by Olivier Thizy from th ARAS database shows good agreement:

It took me a while to figure out calibration (with A HgAr lamp) and instrument response (with a fiber flat), but it looks I managed it after a few headaches.
I hope to contribute some more spectra as soon as my LISA gets back from France.

I'm currently processing the last night spectras.
H beta is still growing. We can clearly see that new spectral lines are coming on the red side of each larges emission lines ; this becomes more clearer this evening. By the way, H beta shows a new profile at the top. Christian Buil shows the same with is last spectras.

I have 35 images of 300 sec each around H beta and a sequence around CaII h&K. I've got some job for the rest of the day...

Après quelque peu de sommeil, je traite les images de la nuit.
On voit que H beta grandit toujours un peu. De plus on constate sans équivoque le développement d'un pic sur le côté rouge des raies en émission. C'était à peine discernable il y a deux jours, mieux la nuit d'avant, mais cette nuit, c'est très très net.
D'autre part, le somment de H beta tendrait à s'évaser un peu. Cela est très net aussi sur les images de Christian Buil.

Allez, courage, j'ai 35 poses de 300 sec à traiter en H béta ; la calibration à faire sur CaII h&k et la réduction dans cette longueur d'onde. Ma journée va être occupée (et en plus il faudrait que je passe la tondeuse dans le jardin...)

Hello Olivier,

L'eshell c puissant et tu sais bien utiliser cela.
Neanmoins, pour pouvoir comparer des profils rigoureusement il est prudent des les rescaler : mise a l'echelle du continuum a 1 pour une meme longueur d'onde.
