This night I try to do a spectrum of this nova with my eshel spectrograph R=11000 and an Astrosib telescope (RC400) and ATIK 460EX CCD use in binning 2x2.
The target was very low in the sky (only 10 degrees)
Here's a graph of H alpha profil : 9 exposures of 10 minutes each
The radial velocity of the nova expansion is about 870 Kms/s

This is my attempt from last night. Much easier with a LISA.
There are lots of strong absorption features still.

Congratulations for the spectra.
Still in the fire ball stage, thick wind
Terry, what is the altitude of the nova for you ?
A new page is ready in the data base for your spectra
Please use Nova Sgr 2015 C as object name
All the best,
François

Last night, I tried again to make a spectrum of this nova, but there were many clouds on the horizon.
Here's the result only for order 34 H Alpha (there is nothing usable on other orders) very noisy
We can seen that the P Cyg profil has disappeared and H Alpha emission line is more stronger.

The nova was at about airmass 1.5
It will be able to follow it of about a month before it gets too low.
Im away from home til Monday and will be able to send you the data then.
Should we use the new name V5669 Sgr that has just been announced?
Terry
