Transient in Vulpecula

Post by Francisco Campos »

Hello,

yesterday at night I received an alert about PNV J20205397+2508145, a transient of mag. 12-13. Although the new telescope I am testing these days wasn't still ready to do spectroscopy, I could take a spectrum with enough signal. But the cotinuum is almost free of emission or absortion bands: only H-alpha is clearly in emission.

I suspect that the supposed nova is only a dwarf nova. What do you believe?

Great!
As says Paolo in private mail, this is a dwarf nova in outburst
Congratulations
