Here is my echelle result for July 9th.
I have replaced my QSI583 imager with an ASI1600mm pro. I am getting much better S/N, particularly at the blue end. Very pleased. :D

To answer your question Francois I actually binned 3x3 (after calibrating and combining the images un-binned).
This gives a sampling factor of only 2.1 which is not really enough. Also I had to leave optimum binning turned off in ISIS.

Here is the same data processed with 2x2 binnnig and with optimum binning turned on. Sampling is 3.2.

And here is a detailed comparison.

I'm not sure if the gain in S/N for 3x3 binning is justified for very faint objects due to the marginal sampling.

Change in the spectrum of the nova between 3rd and 10th July. V mag has dropped from 10.76 to 11.62 and the (B-V) colour changed from 1.22 to 1.08.
Flux in the H-alpha emission line has increased by almost 30%.

Bonjour à tous, placé le profil de la nova observé le 11-07-2018 calibré en flux absolu avec la photométrie contemporaine de Paolo Berardi.

Hi all, a new observation for 11 July. The profile is flux calibrated using a contemporary V photometry and low-res spectroscopy (by Umberto).

The mean magnitude during the integration was V 11.30 with an upward brightness trend. The light curve:

Two last Atel on this nova :

During OHP spectro party Stephane Charbonnel took 2 eShel spectra with a 300mm newton telescope, a challenge according the last magnitude of this nova.

Hallo everybody,
here my last spectra compared with the 4th July consistent with those reported at low resolution.
Since we use a Newton telescope togheter with an Alpy setup, i am strong interest to know more information about calibration spectra and problems about the weight of the cameras and the spectroscope on the newton focuser. I Read Stephane Charbonnel used a newton; does someone tell me more?

Clear nights
Regards
