Here's an animation of the nova focus on H Beta region since august the 14th to yesterday.

The Halpha emission is still growing and the profile size has contemporaneous changed. The extremly outer areas of the expanding gas cloud do have obviously lower expansion velocity than the inner parts.
The intensity on the ordinate is different to those of other observers, because of the small wavelength section of the 2400 grating of the LHIRES III and my normalisation on 1 at 6520 Angstr. Nevertheless, the essential expansion processes are vry well observable in this way.

Corresponding to the posts of Martin Dubs and me (121 & 122) here some thoughts to the intrinsic Halpha line flux (see attachments).

Very interesting Ernst,

Have you allowed for any relative change in flux level between the V band and where the H alpha line was normalised?
Since we have a set of Echelle spectra, a more direct measurement could be made by integrating the flux over the V passband in those spectra and using the result and the Vmag data to calibrate the spectra in absolute units.

Cheers
Robin

I'm still fighting with le processing softwares ; don't know why I can't do good things. I used IRIS5.5 to obtain this result with my images of the 26-27 august night.
I'm still looking what is wrong.
Here is the result.

Just processed, aspect of Halpha line this night compared a with spectrum taken 24 hours ago (I have removed telluric lines for display only, and for compute precise EW... excellent analyse Ernst of actual situation and computation method):

Note fast feature development at the red edge level.

The spectrum of August 28th shows still more clearly the two different velocities of the inner and the outer area of the expanding matter.
Christian: a confirmation of your observation!
Do we observe at the moment the development of a ring structure?

Ernst,

Two spectra taken at 3.4 hours interval the August 27th give some info (the evolution seem very fast at the date).
