48 Lib (Be) low res at T60

Post by Daniel Dejean »

Hello all,
As part of our setup evaluation at T60 with Alpy600 + Kepler corrector + Atik428 , you will find below a stacked view of our result on Be 48 Lib (B8IIe, mV4.9) compared to other low resolution results already registered in the Bess data base.
- orange : 2011-04-18.979 cbuil : C11+Lisa + QSI583 / tot expo time 1091s
- green : 2013-05-04.950 afavaro : C8 + Lisa + Atik314 : tot expo time 3000s
- red (our result) : 2017-05-07.994 ddejean fpastor : T60 + Alpy600 + Atik428 : tot expo time 240s
Graphic presentation is done with the excellent PlotSpectra graphic tool. Easy to use, even for a first trial (many thanks to Tim Lester!).
The cbuil spectra as a much better definition. Our result ddejean-fpastor is very similar to afavaro. A zoom on Hbeta shows an emission line with details on cbuil and well visible on our. Using the velocity windows we can says there is a shift of about 200km/s between the centre of the hbeta absorption line at 4861A and the peak of the emission line. For Alpy point of view we should add that we have an ierror of about +- 50km/s on that measurement.
We will continue to work on our results to better understand how we can contribute to the community with low resolution spectro missions on T60 at Pic du Midi. This test was done on purpose on low magnitude star to facilitate quality check. Once we are confident with the results, next steps will be to reach more difficult targets.
Many thanks to Christian and André Favaro for their data in Bess.
Thanks for any comment or suggestion.
Cheers,
Daniel
