ISIS Heliocentric Correction

Post by Andrew Smith »

I have been trying to eliminate all possible sources of error in my RV measurements and would like to be sure that ISIS does nothing to the object co-ordinates that it is given via SIMBAD. That is it does not adjust for precession or proper motion of the object. I know the shifts are small for small position changes but I like to make sure.

Thanks Andrew

Andrew,

Enter the eq. 2000.0 coordinates. The precession is corrected internally. The proper motion adjustment is of your responsibility (very small effect).

All the best,

Christian
