Jacoby-Hunter-Christian Atlas

Post by David Boyd »

I came across this stellar spectral library as a reference in a recently published paper. It is one I have not come across before.

It contains flux-calibrated spectra of 161 stars with spectral types O to M and luminosity classes I, III and V. Spectra have a resolution of ~4A and are corrected for interstellar reddening. It contains some spectral types missing in the Pickles library. The spectra can be downloaded from this website http://www.stsci.edu/hst/observatory/crds/jc.html

There is a publication about the library at http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1984ApJS...56..257J

Hi David, Olivier,

How do you download the spectra? I could not get the ftp server linked there to respond.

Thanks

Hi Robin,

There is a link at the bottom of the page I sent you which takes you to a page where you can download the individual spectra as ascii and fits files. You need to start from that page to know which spectrum is which.
