An UVEX2 spectrum taken the 28.8/08/2018 :

Image

The [NeV] and [OIII] lines at 3426 and 3444 A are now well detected (the doublet at the left)
I suspect also detection of [Ne V] à 3346 A (not show here).

Nice work! Hope this UVEX2 goes into Shelyak production next year! I'll shoot Z And this weekend as close to this UV region as I can get with my
LhiresIII using the 1800 l/mm grat. on the CDK17. Maybe I'll try this again at "Pic du Midi" conditions on Mt. Pinos (2500meters) in 2 weeks!

Here is my Z And data and 2D image taken on 30Sep18 in the near UV region (Using HD009826 for my IR curve):
Image
The Ti and He1 lines are my "best guess's." Shot with CDK17 (@ F/10.5) with LhiresIII, 1800 l/mm Grating/ 35 micron slit. I'll try to go further in the UV when I'm at my high altitude site next week.

Also, Here is a shot of the Ha region of Z And shot a day latter showing the strong He I line at 6678.15A (Using HD213470, A3Ia,
for the Deneb Ha spectrum I shot that night for the IR curve):

Here is a shot of the UV region of Z And just shortward of blue using my LhiresIII, 1800 l/mm Grating and 35 micron slit from my high altitude/dark sky site
(2500 meters) at Mt. Pinos, CA on 09Oct18:

Hello James,

You have a nice coverage of blue end, of a faint target, with good SNR!
The feature at 3868A (together with its pair 3967.51) must be [Ne III], typically mentioned for symbiotics (CH Cyg show both, which is a wide pyramid in that case). It is the 3rd element in the group contaminating Ca II 3967 (besides H7). The Ti I (marked on your graph) used to appear in form of absorption, and usually weaker.
Additionally, I can see Si II 3856.021 and 3862.592, though it's less obvious.

To: Peter,

Thanks for the clarification....your right Ti should be an absorption feature rather than emission.
I have some interesting BD Cam and R Aqr spectrum of this same spectral range I'll post soon. I wonder if I should take more near UV spectra
if I do a mini trip to Mt. Pinos next week (4-5 days instead of the usual 10 days).
