New AGN found

Post by Olivier GARDE »

During our mission on Calern's T1M, we discovered a new active core galaxy. (AGN)

On the raw spectrum that appeared on the screen we could see that the lines were shifted in the red

The spectrum shows the Balmers lines in emissions as well as the [OIII] lines

The table here, shows the redshift z calculation.

Publication (with 3 others galaxies) is in progress...

Very nice ! This could be a suitable project for my faint object ALPY 200. Was this a specific target or part of a general survey ?

Cheers

The website is only in French at the moment (but an English version will be available soon)
