On line data base of Symbiotic Variables

Post by Francois Teyssier »

Jaroslav Merc & al. publish a new data base
https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu//#abs/201 ... M/abstract
At date, only extragalactic symbiotics, soon the database will be completed with galactic symbiotics
Very nice and usefull tool. Congratulations to Jaroslav.

Dear colleagues,
the short paper mentioned in the previous post is available at the address: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3 ... 172/ab0429. For some reasons, the DOI address is not working so it is not possible to access the paper from the ADS database.

Moreover, the paper has been included to the Volume 1, Number 1 (2017) of the RNAAS, probably by mistake, so it did not appear in the section with latest articles on the website of the journal. I have already contacted the production team, so I hope the problem will be solved quickly.

However, this does not change the fact that the online database is already available and all suggestions and comments are welcome. The goal is not only to create a new catalog of symbiotic stars, as the last one is almost two decades old, but also a portal allowing access to published data with consistent references. Every star in the database has its own object page, which you can access by clicking on the star's name in tables. You can also use a search function.

What I think is one of the biggest advantages of the database is that it is available online, allowing the addition of new objects as soon as they are discovered, and add or update data when available. In this way, up-to-date lists of symbiotic variables and information about particular objects can be available to the community at any time.

Looking forward to hearing your comments and suggestions.

This list of galactic symbiotic stars is now updated: http://astronomy.science.upjs.sk/symbio ... tic-stars/

Amoung the bright targets which do not appear in ARAS list:
del Sge
V1472 Sgr
5 Cet

I've got a spectrum of del Sge, but no emission lines in visible range.
