Hi again
Done some reading.

My best estimate will be C II (20)

Found a few articles about Nova LW Serpentis

Identification:
7116
7115.13 - 7112.36, - 7119.45 C II (20)

Equivalent width (A):
Day 10 = 9
Day 37 =19

Here a spectrum taken 15.7 / 02 / 2013 with a C11 and
a the prototype of a very new spectrograph in tests phase (... I can not
give more infos for the moment ;) ) :

Image

(only a 4 x 300 sec. exposure because presence of a wall in the direction pointing).

The intensity of Halpha relative to continuum continue to increase.
Note also presence of intense OI lines in the infrared part (7773 A and 8446 A lines).

C'est excellent Christian.
La résolution est plus qu'honorable.
J'ai hâte de voir d'autres spectres.

I agree with the C II identification, seems a reasonable transition and it's reported often in literature.

For OHP spectro party, I haven't planned anything so far for next summer, who knows :)

I limited the wavelength range slightly to avoid problems with an overlapping spectrum from another star at the blue end at the red end where the second order might potentially start to become a problem as the flux increases.
Very nice profile Robin, anyway it remains a large spectral range, above all, captured in a single integration!
For interest, I measured the EW of the H alpha line and compared it with your spectrum from the same night. I got -230 A compared with -205 A for your spectrum. A good agreement I think considering the very large difference in resolution
Really amazing how many interesting measures can be made with the SA100 grating!
I think this is my first post here, although I've been a member for some time.
Welcome Lars, and compliments for your spectrum! Thanks for line identification.

Ciao Ivan, ben risentito! It's a pity the nova magnitude is so fast to decline. I would have liked to observe again but I think this could be my last spectrum (at least with 600 l/mm grating). With mag V below 13-14, continuum signal disappear in the noise...

Hi ,
I process my photometrics measurements and upload in U B V Rc Ic in the AAVSO database

The Ic [7250 - 8750 ] mag seems to grow up again, But there is no others measures in the database so i can't compare.

I look at the alpy spectra of Olivier and it seem to confirm that the spectra is higher in this spectral area also
(arasdatabase : _novadel2013_20130816_909_OThizy.fit and _novadel2013_20130814_928.fit

If it's not an artefact why the infrared part grows ?
