Hallo,
the rising of the Balmer lines is indeed remarkable when comparing it to the continuum. It would be nice to plot the actual flux versus time. Not so easy for a complex spectrum with intense emission lines to convert magnitude into flux however. Maybe Christian has tried it? Whenever I suggest something, Christian has in most cases already done it

good idea! Indeed this would make sense.
In this context see the essential part (page 2-3) of our AAVSO 2012 publication of the PCyg campaign, in which we study the intrinsic flux by division of the EW through Vmag:

To get contemporaneous Vmag values should be not a problem.
The derived quantity is not the line flux in physical units, but a quantity proportional to the physical line flux, corrected for continuum variations. It is important to consider the absolute flux of the line because its variations are caused by the effects of mass loss, stellar wind den-sity and changes of the ionization state of chemical elements in it.

Just one very short observation tonight, in a small hole after rain.
4x90s, C14 + eShell. The H alpha is up du 18x the continium level now ! I post the data to Francois.

J'ai traité des informations de mon observation du 24-25 (faite malheuersement sous pas mal de nuages).
On focalisant le spectrographe eShel dans le bleu (vers 4200 A), simultanément, on obtient un spectre bien net
du proche infrarouge.
Voici donc le spectre de la nova le 24.9 entre 6490 A et 8450 A (pose de 5 x 300 s avec le T200) :
Un détail de la raie OI à 7773 A :
et un zoom sur une raie en émission à 8115.3 A que je n'ai pas pu identifier :
