Hello from Florence - Italy

Post by Nico Montigiani »

Hello.
My name is Nico Montigiani and I'm a member of the Amateur Astronomers Association Associazione Astrofili Fiorentini (A.A.F.) in Florence, Italy.

I started to get stellar spectra few months ago and then I have to learn many more things.
I've received a lot of help and suggestions from the many always friendly and very experienced Paolo Berardi from L'Aquila.
I hope to learn a lot by users of this forum.

The equipment that we use in our observatory is as follows:

- Meade SC 10 "f/10
- Self-made Mount
- FS2 unit for controlling the Mount
- Spectroscope LHires III (gratings: 150 l / mm and 2400 l / mm)
- CCD camera SBIG ST10 XME
- Guide camera Lodestar X2
- Software Astroart 5.0

Together with my colleague Massimiliano Mannucci we're trying to fine-tune the setup of the equipment to undertake a program of observations of the spectra.

I'm sorry for my bad english.

Clear skies

Thank you François,
We hope that the observation of V1466 Aql is interesting.
Maybe it's "the beginner's luck".
We hope to soon have some other observations to show to the forum.

Clear skies

Welcome on board Nico! (sorry for delay...)
Thank you but I'm no expert... here you will find many real experts!
Keep us informed about Lhires III fine-tuning.

Clear skies (we need a lot this year...)!
Paolo
