Hello
"sptypes in ('B0','B1','B2','B3','B4','B5','B6','B7','B8','B9','B9.5') & (splum in ('IV', 'III','II')) & Bmag>6 & Bmag<11 & maintype='*' & dec>0"
Thierry

Well done! I may have to look for a new project? What mount are you using?

Hello Andrew
On the contrary don't abandon your project, we can work together. Like share list of star and maintain the list of the one we already observed. The idea is to observe the regularly. each month or each quarter for example.
My mount is a Astrophysic AP1200 GTO.
regards
Thierry

Re: Survey B star
More than happy to share our work Thierry. My major constraint is the poor weather here in the Northwest of England near Chester. I only get short periods of clear skies on a very infrequent basis. Even when it is clear the seeing is normally poor 4 arcsecs is typical. The best I will be able to do is image what I can when I can. However, it would be good avoid repeating work and if possible confirm key observations.Thierry Lemoult wrote:Hello Andrew

Where are you based in France? Also I have no French so will need to use English.
I would propose we share lists of what we have observed in Excel format including the following:
Catalogue: No HD........ (I use HIP but I know most here use HD)
BeSS: Y, N (Y in data base, N not in data base)
Date observed: yyyy mm dd
Status: e, a, ? ( e - in emission, a - in absorption, ? - not clear)
Notes: (text comments)
Let me know what you think. If you prefer you can e-mail me at andrew.j.smith1905[at]btinternet.com

Thierry, Andrew, your work on the automation of observations is amazing. It marks a date.
You multiply the potential of spectrography for survey programs. We must continue to experiment and communicate on this important and exiting subject!

Andrew,
Thierry,
Congratulations both for an excellent work. You just dit put automated slit spectroscopy (and with different mount/scope/software) at the forefront of amateur astronomy! What I also like is to see you working together, in a collaborative way... to all faint Be stars that try to hide - watch out, you are coming to reveal their emission lines!
Cordialement,
Olivier Thizy
