ISIS eShel error message

Post by Andrew Smith »

Hi Some help please. I have started trying to process my echelle spectra using ISIS. I can get to the detection of orders then get an error message which I can't find the reason for so any advice where to look would be welcome. Adding the Check.Fit to the Sky spectra shows this was ok.

Thanks Andrew

The problem is probably in the lines.lst file. Check the end of the file and remove possible "white" line (remove "return" lines for example).
(a 4 columns data is necessary for each lines).

Thanks for the pointer Christian. The error was in the def_order.lst where I had used "," rather than " " to separate the columns and I also had two "Returns" at the end of the line. I need to refine the *.lst files as I just estimated some of the values and used your lines.lst even though I just has an Relco SC480 Ar source and not a ThAr HCL.

I attach a capture of order 34 of a cloudy shy which which shows the progress to date.

Hi Andrew,

besides lines.lst you also need def_lambda.lst and def_order.lst with data for all orders you would like to analyze. Maybe something missing there?
