drag and drop in Visual Spec

Post by Robin Leadbeater »

Can anyone using Windows 7 still drag and drop spectrum profiles into VSpec the way you could under XP. I seem to have lost this ability now I have upgraded to win 7 64 bit

Thanks

Robin,
I have the same Win7 set-up with VSpec shortcut on the Desktop, ID (fits) seems to "drag and drop" OK, but not 2D fits images.

Thanks Ken,

Drag and drop 2D images never worked for me even in XP but it is interesting that dropping 1D profiles still works for you. What version are you running currently? I am on 4.1.1
Perhaps it is something to do with permissions. Do you get the "do you want to allow the following program to make changes?" message when you start VSpec?

Cheers
Robin

Robin,
I'm running version 4.1.4.
No messages on start up. I think you're correct - something to do with the permission settings.
If I can help further, just let me know.

Hi
Long time not being on the forum... sorry.
I noticed this myself. I will investigate but yes it is around the security with the windows OS. If I run in non admin mode, I can do the drag and drop... and as all the dlls are registerered the first time you run vspec in admin mode, then maybe not necessary to continue that way. Will experiment more...
