Hello to all ARAS members,
My name is Matthias Kiehl and I am living in Berlin, Germany.
I am working as software engineer and study physics in the early 1980`s
I have been interested in spectroscopy many years ago as was student and take spectras of Mira variables
with an 7,5° objective prism 500mm f/4 Maksutov telelens with film or plates. Also visual estimation of Mira and cataclysmic variables.
Last years I do astrophotograhy in narrow band and rgb with Moravian CCD G2-8300 FW and a 10" f/5 and a 8" f/4 Newton
and a AZEQ-6 mount. Some results with film and ccd are on my homepage, but it isn't actual.

My interest in spectroscopy awakes as I saw what is possible today with ccd and an Alpy600.
My first spectra was taken with Staranalyser 100. But I was not really happy with it.
So I purchased (March 2015) an Alpy600 and the guiding module, a Atik 414ex mono ccd cam. The guiding cam is lodestar autoguider.
Using PHD for guiding and carte du ciel for finding objects. Positioning and guiding works fine.
I have no experience in processing spectra's.
I would like to resume my old observation program of mira and cataclysmic variables with the new technique.
I am also registrate for the Spectro Party 2015 at OHP in august
Best regards
Matthias

Welcome to this forum.
A very good thing to attend the next spectro party at OHP, I would be too.

Guten Tag Matthias,
it's nice to meet a further colleague from Germany within the ARAS community.
Also interesting is, to hear something about your spectroscopic activities with a objective prism spectrograph of Mira stars in the past. Long time ago I did it too, with different films on the photographically way.
Actually you can see some photographic spectra of Mira itself at the AAVSO spectro site

Beste Grüße,
