WR140 aproaching periastron

I got a spectrum tonight of WR140. With eShel R=11000, ATIK460, Celestron C14.
But i forget who collects these data ?

congratulations to everybody for your excellent spectra. Here you are the result of three consecutive nights. All spectra taken with the DADOS (1200 l/mm, R=5200-5700) operating through a newton 8". Exposures of 5x1200" (except the first night, 3x900" with bad seeing).

I plan to save mine up until after periastron and offer the full set to Noel Richardson or whoever on the Convento forum make can use them. Eventually I will put them on the BAA database for future researchers.

I've shot this object as well! Unfortunately, I just barely found-out I missed the interesting lines longer than 5850 angstroms in most of my shots;
thanks to the spectra presented here I was able to figure out my equivalent Relco Ne-Ar lines! I'll get these longer wavelengths on subsequent spectra.

Here is my result of observations (line calibrated/instrument response corrected) taken on 30-Nov-2016:


Hope to catch more activity as the stellar winds increase and collide. Looking forward to the excellent spectra taken here!
(Btw, I shot some CaK and Ha shots which I'll show later)

I just processed data for WR140 taken on 09 Dec 2016 (sum 8x300sec exposures, 2x2 bin):

When I compare this to the data taken on 30Nov16, I see some change in the CIII "mound."
Weather has taken a turn for the worse so I may need to go to the field to take data close
to periston on 18Dec16!

I believe that together, we are getting good results with the ER140.

Here is my latest (14Dec16) spectrum of WR140:

CIII and HeI looks more prominent; I did a longer exposure and used a wider slit
to improve my spectral efficiency, which at the wavelength is kinda of week.

I see a lot of light pollution background in my spectra, which is towards downtown
LA 10 miles away; see:
