To: Christian,
I did another spectra of V442 And, different telescope but similar exposure and did not see these artifacts.....will post the spectra shortly.
Btw, this link on your Isis update history page for the ELODIE 3.1 data base gives a 404 error; see

The ELODIE 3.1 download page can now be found here
http://perso.astrophy.u-bordeaux.fr/CSo ... nload.html
I have also edited the original post on ELODIE 3.1 with the new link

Re: Weird Squares in continuum of V442 And
Thanks for the ELODIE 3.1 link Robin!
Which of the following should we use?
The full datasets can be retrieved :
Physical parameters measured on the spectra :
http://www-obs.univ-lyon1.fr/labo/perso ... e_meas.dat
Description of the content and format of table_meas.dat : README
Full set of spectra at high resolution (R=42000) :
http://www-obs.univ-lyon1.fr/labo/perso ... _23.tar.gz
Full set of spectra at medium resolution (R=10000) :
http://www-obs.univ-lyon1.fr/labo/perso ... _23.tar.gz
I do not wish to download a set of humongous spectra which I could never match in resolution with the LhiresIII.

Re: Weird Squares in continuum of V442 And
Here is my new V0442 And spectra taken on 08Oct17 with CDK17 telescope and LISA spectroscope from home (Los Angeles, CA at 148m elevation):

9x35 sec exposures, 2x2 bin with Atik 460ex CCD at -5 temp guided with Atik Titan guider using 23 micron slit. IR response against Miles star HD000400.
All electrical components were powered by mains (AC-to-DC) and no strange squares seen in the continuum. Issue fixed hopefully.

Re: Weird Squares in continuum of V442 And
Hi James,
Cheers
Robin
You could use either resolution but I am currently using the R=10000 set. It is a bit lower than the maximum the LHIRES can reach but enough to give a good instrument response. If you want to integrate them into ISIS using the "mybase" function you also need to download the table so you can generate the file mybase.lst that ISIS uses to reference them. (Note that the continuum is not well calibrated below ~4000A in these spectra)James Foster wrote:Thanks for the ELODIE 3.1 link Robin!
