Joan,
where did you buy your half-wave polymer ?
I’d be interested to know what type of model you’re using.
Cheers
Guillaume

Bonjour Guillaume,
At the moment all is new in this sense for me. So, it's time to learn about spectropolarimetry, before showing new results.
Like you, the weather hasn't been good here in these last two months, but some test was allowed.
You can see in this sketch the answer to your question. Specifically, the BVO Halfwave Achromatic Polymer was recommended by Gary Cole who has using it for a lot of years.
I hope that will be useful for your project, I would like to know something about it.
Cheers, Joan.

Hello,
The practice has thought that the internal tungsten light, - that is very useful for the NOU_T echelle -, doesn't work with The Giver, therefore, to obtain good flats, this type of light has to enter through the telescope.
But, on the other hand, it seems, there are opinions that they said the use of flats isn't a requisite for taking a good spectropolarimetry. Just in case, I made an external tungsten flat light diffuser, and it's ready for it.
I also have changed the 100-micron air slit for a 75-micron chrome on glass one, with the reason to do good guiding when I'll need to use the same target for it, overall if this star is weak and there is no other.
All are ready for more tests now.
Cheers, Joan.

Hi at all,
I would very much appreciate it if someone of you could take some UV Aur images and spectrographic graphics, with a resolution near R=1000 or more, and overall, with 2500mm. or more focal telescope. I need to compare these images with those I got with TheGiver SPOL these last few nights.
The images are very important to me for testing, much more than their graphics.
Many thanks in advance.
Have a Happy and Good New Year, Joan.

Hello,
Comparing Foster Sims' UV Aur image with TheGiver ones, you can see that while the symbiotic star UV Aur
shows a single trace with a normal spectrographic observation, apparently it splits in two using
TheGiver spectropolarimeter showing both component characteristics. I don't know if it's useful.
Cheers, J. Guarro.

Hello,
François Teyssier was right when he said that the UV Aur double image was a decollimated optics result.
In this picture you can see the new setup of TheGiver low-resolution spectropolarimeter.
Cheers, J. Guarro.

Hello,
Meanwhile, their software is being developed, you can see other evidence that TheGiver spectropolarimeter works well.
Greetings, J. Guarro.

Hello,
Seeing these graphics you can judge and take out your own opinions about the stability and reliability degree of TheGiver low-resolution SP.
Greetings, J. Guarro.

Hello,
With Gam Cas you can see another example of how TheGiver works.
Cheers, Joan.

Hello,
Spectropolarimetry could open a new world before us, a new skyline for our knowledge.
This graphic is another sample of it, the tool exists, so only lacks one good software now.
Regards, J. Guarro.
