Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello,
This is another sample that shows the equipment and NOU_T installed in SMM observatory are working well.
The graphic is really fine, and is only a bit noisier on the last IR part.
Cheers, J.Guarro.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello,
You can see these graphics of stars that I have observed last night and I have usually been observing for some analyzers. The use of the ASI2600MM plus a fine NOU_T optical collimation and ISIS applications led -- for me -- these surprising results, you can see here their graphics and download their FITS from here,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h8zG6- ... sp=sharing.
On the other hand, it is a pity -- supportable -- that ISIS doesn't discriminate and save on single mode the orders under the number 26. It's resolved by making them manually.
Cheers, J. Guarro.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Bonjour Michel,
Thank you, I think that it's the border due to all elements losing detectivity so far. The Piera NOU_T, has some little differences or circumstances over the SMM one, in the other words, each NIKON 85mm. F1.8 has little inappreciable differences the same as the Relco and Tungstene lights. In the practice the results are, meanwhile Piera NOU_T has a range of 3706.5 to 10442.9 Angs. with 39 Orders, SMM has "only" 3762.5 to 9969.15 Angs. with "only" 37 Orders.
Luckily, you know, both of them give very good fine graphics with very slow noise at R=8500, overall on zones that are of high interest for the analyzers.
All of that is thanks at some improvements in the NOU_T echelle, first the Richarson or Optometrics echelle grating -- Thorlabs one is deficient --, the new CMOS 16 bits camera, an ASI2600MM on both cases, -- is another world compared with our dear ATIK460EX --, and finally the ISIS software.
So, in my opinion, all of us could use these powerful new tools now, and within our means, because it's necessary that we improve our observational works, or not ?. We mustn't send R=1**00 files with plenty of noise at database places, we shouldn't treat these as if the stars database would be noise landfills anymore.
This V442 And is a graphic expression that I can say.
Many thanks again, Joan.

Hello,
A bit better collimation has permited me to widen a bit the range of the SMM NOU_T echelle.

Great Joan, this spectroscope is the plus ultra of all echelles.
Congratulations!

Grazie mille per le tue gentili parole, Umberto!
You know I've started from Tim Lester's design, my job has been trying to make some improvements and I'm really glad about it has had an evolution with good final results.
You can see in this picture the viability of the NOU_T echelle, but you know very well too, that perfection doesn't exist and every spectrograph has its Achilles Heel.., one of them minus one of them more.
Un forte abbraccio, Joan.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello,
You can see here another example, -- the easy Gam Cas --, about the necessity to remove the noise of our graphics. In my humble opinion a noisy graphic is throwing our observations at the landfill, at the rubbish, we must to avoid this practice, and it gives a bad reputation to us.
We can't play "everything is worth it" anymore. I know that I also made it sometimes.
Best regards, J. Guarro.

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Hello at all,
With a normal, not more excellent-, seeing level I have wanted to test which is the border of the SMM spectroscopic equipment, so I have chosen the Seyfert NGC1275 for that. You know, it is a diffuse object of V12.48 mag. at 240 million light years.
You can see here the results and also I would be really appreciated if some of you couldhelp me to detect the pollution lines, if it could possible take some red shift measurements, so you can download the NGC1275 files from, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UyoFCU ... sp=sharing.
Thank you very much in advance, J. Guarro.
