Change in the absorptions since the last spectra obtained by Peter in december
Type A nr according to Iijima's classification (see :
http://www.astronomie-amateur.fr/feuill ... 94Mon.html)
The velocity of the jet is about 2500 km/s

Observation of V694 Mon the 9.8 Feb. with a C11 and a Lhires III (1800 lines/mm grating for a R = 8800 resolution power). 35 microns slit wide :
The Lhires III is updated with the new kit.
Christian
PS : François, je t'envoi les données.
Il y a des raies très fines (origine ?).

Three flux calibrated spectra of V694 Mon on 5, 8 and 9 August.
Photometric magnitudes and colours as follows:
5 Aug V=10.43 (V-Ic)=1.86
8 Aug V=10.21 (V-Ic)=1.73
9 Aug V=10.09 (V-Ic)=1.67

Christian : excellent at that resolution, we have the profile - will be interesting to compare with low res spectra the maximum velocity of the absorption.
The narrow lines are supposed to be formed in the accretion disk. These are essentially Fe lines.
David : nice series, we'll have to measure the velocities

While recording the spectrum on 9 August I was also measuring the variation in V and Ic magnitudes. The V magnitude is shown below

I compared the two 5 minute spectral exposures taken at 20150209.923 (JD 2457063.423) when the mean V mag was 10.14 and at 20150209.930 (JD 2457063.430) when the V mag had risen to 10.00. During the 10 minutes between these exposures the change in the spectrum is shown below

At the Hα emission line, the flux increased by 3.4%

Hi,
A spectrum taken with C11 and Lhires 600 l/mm - 35 microns slit (and Atik460EX) . It is a composition of 4 individual spectra (one for the blue region, one for the green, one for the red and one for near-infrared) - Thanks to Lhires kit upgrade, these observation mode is only possible because availably of many Ne/Ar/He lines.
Same date as Joan latest spectrum:

Finally after nearly two months of nights that were just too cold for me to operate we had a warm night. It only reached -17C!
After Christians's last result I decided to see what I could do with my 1800lpm grating ( R = 8900) on V694 Mon.
I am very pleased as I had not thought I could reach such faint objects at this resolution with reasonable signal to noise.

Did a weekend catch (250/1000N, APM barlow, LHires 600/mm, 23um slit):
Old was 5 x 1200 sec, new is only 3 x 1200 sec.
