Hello,
yesterday I took a spectra of Z CMa. I used HD 59984 (F5 V) as comparison star to correct the instrumental response. I think it is a very interesting spectra
The P-Cygni profile observed in the H-beta line (10.27 A between both peaks) suggests an expansion speed of 630 km/s (I hope this result to be correct, please correct me if not).

Here is Z CMa for Jan 23rd (R=9000 centered on Ha) V Mag from AAVSO was ~ 8.3.
Ambient temp was -15C. Struggling with equipment issues on these very cold clear Jan/Feb nights that can get down below -20C.
Electrical cabling gets very stiff and breaks at the connectors. I'm thinking about using a thermal blanket over the spectrograph to keep it above -15C.
