Hi François, the H-alpha absorption shape now seems more "rounded" and red side of H-beta one has not continued to rise. From AAVSO observations I saw that the brightness in V band is decreased (until about mag 9.6).

The spectrum with eShel is great!

I had several nights with rain and clouds...

Here is my result for 2016/02/19. 6000 to 7100 ang, R = 9000. (Ambient temp. -19C!)

I used the Cflib spectra for the star HD59984 to calibrate response. It is a mag. 5.9 F5V star that is 2 degrees away from V694 Mon.
The average altitudes differed by less than 1 deg during acquisition.

A bit off topic but has anyone checked how well the Indo-US CfLIB spectra work as reference stars ? Although the spectral features are taken from actual spectra of the specific star, the continuum is taken from Pickles spectra of the same spectral type so they would potentially have the same problems. (eg metallicity and IS reddening effects etc)

Nice Tim !
The star looks quiet in term of velocity of the jet despite the visual outburst.
So let's go on.

Here's an identification of the metal lines for 4500-4600 range.
Fe I, Fe II, Ti II, Cr II, Ba II
All are narrow, about 30 km/s
Emitted by the disk according to the models, while the absorptions are formed in the jet

Robin, thank you for pointing that out. I didn't know the observed continuum was fitted to the Pickles ones. Anyway I was thinking to use the Cflib profile like a Pickles for a reference star not far from V694 Mon (HD 49147) - for which there is not a calibrated profile (I suppose). According to François spreadsheet data, its E(B-V) value is zero but I don't know about metallicity, might be deducted from Cflib profile lines if there is an impact on continuum?

I hope Elodie library is the source suitable for calibrating our mid/hi-res spectra (I read your new topic) but I saw a large deviation of continuum slope respect to Calspec/Pickles on Vega spectrum (see here).

Yesterday I observed again V694 Mon by finding (looking at 2d spectrum) what François says about a not high velocity of jet (H-beta seems stable and Fe II absorption components have decreased the blue-shift). As soon as it is ready, I show the H-beta region profile.

The ELODIE 3.1 library looks promising. The Vega spectrum in the library confirms the problem seen with the ELODIE Vega spectrum in ISIS and agrees well with Calspec
