I have constructed a kitchen table prototype of the fiber agitator described in this paper
https://arxiv.org/pdf/1802.01642.pdf.
This link shows it in action while testing. It will have a cover to stop my Burmese cat playing with it!

Hi Andrew,
I work on a similar project with a prototype in LEGO like this one you can find in this link page 27 :
http://www.not.iac.es/news/reports/annu ... nRep10.pdf
My prototype (in progress) will have 2 modules:
- One to shake the fiber in the X axis
- One to shake the fiber in the Y axis
Both not having the same speed.

Hi Olivier, I looked at this design. Are you to using LEGO or just the principles of the design? I liked the fact they had to return the LEGO!
I will post some results when I get them and I look forward to seeing yours.

Here are some results with my Hi Res Spectrograph R ~2300 using tungsten flats. These images have a strong contrast stretch to highlight the difference.
I will be putting the new agitator into production.

Yes with LEGO too, (only for the prototype...)
