A spectrum of nova taken during Fonte Vetica summer star party (Gran Sasso mountain in the centre of Italy). I used a little C5 scope (127 mm aperture SC) and SA100 grating with SXVR-H694 CCD camera. I have left the longer wavelengths (9000 A) to show CaII IR emission but it is possible a small interference with 2nd order spectrum.

The nova is located in a dense star field so, to avoid (as much as possible) contamination of the spectrum with the stars, camera and grating block was rotated respect to the optic. I taken 10 different angle shots, then performed a sigma combine of frames previously registered on the spectrum.

Nova is not visibile from my observatory due to low height above the horizon, so I could not follow it with Lhires and main scope. I took advantage of the star party to make this interesting observation. Hope intensity calibration (with Zeta Sgr) is sufficiently good. I noticed some differences at the extremes of the spectral range, compared to other observations.

See you in OHP!
