Recording into the far IR???

I'm testing some solar filters and would like, if possible, to get details of the possible transmission above>1100nm.
All the cameras I have show QE graphs which "die" above 1100nm.
Is there anything which would record beyond that???

Ken - If I rember correctly (and it is a very long time ago) the band gap of Si is too wide for these low energy photo to excite photo electrons. This puts you into the use of Ge, PbSe or InSb which are specialist and I suspect expensive (see here http://www.pacer.co.uk/products/lasers- ... tAodH2kAnA ).

Thanks Andrew. Yes, that seems to be the case, Howell gives some interesting insights....
Seems that "conventional" CCD's are restricted to +/- 1100nm.....
