Be star V1077 Sco

Post by Paolo Berardi »

Hi all, during a local star party I observed some low declination Be stars including V1077 Sco (HD156325) that seems in activity compared with the old (and unique in BeSS database) H-alpha spectrum (Pic Du Midi, 2008-07-27).

My spectrum of 6 july 2013 through a C5 scope from 1600 m elevation site

Congratulations,
Paolo target not easy especially with a C5 and also low on the horizon.
Sharp increase of two peaks Ha. To follow ...

Stephane

Félicitation,
Paolo, cible pas facile surtout avec un C5 et aussi bas sur l'horizon.
Augmentation très nette des deux pics Ha. A suivre...

Hi Valerie, I sent to BeSS a file named _v1077sco_20130706_873.fits that was associated with [SC96] GC 40. In ArasBeAM I see three distinct entry:

- V1077 Sco, +17 18 20.5, -32 33 11.2, mag 6.37
- [SC96] Mis 379, +17 18 24.0, -32 32 60.0, mag 6.37
- [SC96] GC 40, +17 18 24.0, -32 30 00.0, mag 6.37

For object query = v1077 Sco, Simbad list many identifiers, including [SC96] Mis 379 and [SC96] GC 40. Therefore the three ArasBeAM entry appear to be the same object. On the other hand there are no stars so bright at coordinate of Mis 379 and GC 40. Very close to V1077 Sco (18 arcsec south) there is only a fainter star (HD 156325B, mag 12.0).

I think V1077 Sco (Christian) and [SC96] GC 40 (mine) spectra on BeSS are related to the same object. It needs to be checked?

Ciao
Paolo

Ps: thank you Stephane!

Paolo
Our best pro team is on it... Coralie and Bertrand are now looking at this recent Simbad references change, for this and some others from the same SC96 catalog. They have to perform checks in the litterature, to really be sure paramaters cited in the articles referenced are really for the same object.
BeSS is the catalog reference for Be stars. Not such catalog with extensive litterature check was published before. So Coralie is cautious.
Thanks for pointing this
