Nova Del 2013 = V339 Del
First visual magnitude from AVVSO shows that the plateau phase is ungoing at mag ~ 11.3
So spectroscopic campaign will soon restart

Capture of a medium resolution spectrum of nova Del 2013 with a Lhires III 600 l/mm on
a Celestron 11 telescope (D=28 cm) - red part:

Christian, that's a great spectrum!
The long plateau by AAVSO observations:
I'll be able to observe it very later. From my location I have obstacles along the horizon in every directions, toward east are the highest...
Paolo
PS: Francois, your "heavy" work begins again!

My first spectrum for this new saison
Only 4 exposures of 300 seconds each binning x 2
The AAVSO V Mag is 11.8
Impressive [O III] lines
Note that He II 4686 is now well detached
Spectra on :

Re: Nova Del 2013 = V339 Del
I have been asked to give a talk on pro-am spectroscopy and the archiving of spectra at the BAA Variable Star Section meeting next week and plan to base it on ARAS and the Nova Del campaign as an example.
http://www.britastro.org/meeting_render/5470
Although I contributed a few spectra, I will be relying heavily on the work of other observers for the presentation. I will of course be giving full credit to all the individuals involved but if there is anyone who would prefer that their data is not shown please let me know as soon as possible. (The material will be taken from this forum and the ARAS website and the presentation slides may also be published in pdf form on the BAAVSS website.)
Many Thanks
Robin
