I just completed the UV upgrade of my eShel and purchased an ASI294MM camera. My first images are showing that the orders are not "centered" in the camera anymore. See in the image below how the upper orders are lying off the left edge? Is there any way to fix this?

Re: A modification for improve eShel spectrograph
Hi James,
Thanks for the info - I indeed do have the new lens set to F/2.
Also, when you refer to the "efficient side" do you mean which end of the fiber is inserted in the injection unit vs which is inserted into the collimator?
James

Re: A modification for improve eShel spectrograph
Another question regarding the source of an adaptor ring for the Canon 135mm f/2 lens to the eShel. The adaptor for the 85mm lens that came with my eshel will not work because it's a smaller diameter. EDIT Nevermind, I think I found the solution: https://www.amazon.com/Filter-Adapter-Camera-Compatib...

Re: A modification for improve eShel spectrograph
Thanks for providing the information regarding the optical fiber source. I'm designed a cable that looks to be the correct one... can you confirm the specs in the attached picture before I order, please?

Re: A modification for improve eShel spectrograph
I haven't noticed much activity on this thread recently, but I was wondering if an "update kit" for extending the eShel into the blue is available yet. I know the new collimator can be purchased from Shelyak, but I'm also interested in a new object fiber and Canon 135mm f/2L lens. If these...

Re: Reducing eShel spectra using ISIS
By the way... I noticed you are also using an ATIK460EX. Do you operate in binned 2x2 or unbinned for the acquisition of your spectra?

Re: Reducing eShel spectra using ISIS
Hi Oliver, Thanks for the reply to my question. I understand that I need to determine the instrumental response by comparing my spectrum to an A0V (Vega-like) star. I was just shocked when I saw the Vega spectrum increasing dramatically towards the red end. I'm using an ATIK460EX and thought my resp...

Reducing eShel spectra using ISIS
Greetings all, I'm new to the forums and my college recently purchased an eShel for use on our 0.5m telescope. I've installed everything and all seems to be working nominally, but upon reducing my inaugural spectrum of Vega using ISIS, I noticed something I can't explain. Specifically, the spectrum ...
