Re: sn2023eoc

Hello Emmanuel,
I see that you use a Newton f/4 with the Alpy 600. Is it necessary to put an intermediate lens to correct the focal ratio?
Greetings.

Re: how to improve the visibility of objects in an Alpy600?

Thanks a lot Robin. I added my name as interested in a future (?) Alpy200.
Cheers.

Re: ALPY 200 or ALPY 330 ?

Having previously talked several times with Robin Leadbeater on the subject of spectrographic monitoring of supernovae when they fade, and seeing that there is a push towards an Alpy 200, I would be interested in that possibility if Shelyak finally decides to build it. Juan José

Re: how to improve the visibility of objects in an Alpy600?

Thanks Robin, Yes, some time ago you already told me about the special Alpy 200 answering a question about how to obtain supernova spectra when they fade. Shelyak does not produce it in a standard way although it might be possible to make something similar using 3D printing. What effective resolutio...

how to improve the visibility of objects in an Alpy600?

Hello, My question is about how to improve the vision of objects in an Alpy600. I am using it with an SC8" or with an RC12", in both cases at f/6.3. For observation and guidance I am using an Atik Titan which, combined with the SC8", allows me to obtain spectra of stellar objects of m...

Hello Joan
Fantastic spectrum of SN2022hrs with your échelle NOU. I thought that at resolution 9000 it was not possible to obtain spectra of such faint objects. An exposure of 3.5 hours is perfectly acceptable.
Greetings

Re: SN 2022hrs bright in NGC4647

Supernovae within the reach of amateurs have magnitudes usually between +12 and +18. So far, using the Alpy600 with Atik 314L+ (for spectrum) and Atik Titan (for observation and guidance) I have reached magnitude +14. The telescope is a SC8" at f/6.3. The problem to go lower is that I have to s...

Re: TCP J20210770+2914093 a nova in Vul

I obtained a fourth spectrum, this one after the decrease in luminosity of the nova. The continuous background has diminished considerably. In addition to the initial iron emission lines (Fe II), new lines have appeared that I have not been able to accurately identify.
