Halpha-triple-peak in zeta Tau
Since the Be-star is at present again (still) in its Be phase, there is the chance to observe the so-called "triple peak" in Halpha. This "triple-peak-phase" has been observable in the past twice (see: EW-Monitoring_triple-peak.png). At present spectra of A. Stiewing, J. Martin, ...

Re: pi Aqr V/R and EW monitoring
It is well known that most Be stars are photometric long-term variables, and that at least two characteristic behaviours can be recognized when simultaneous photometry and optical spectroscopy are available: positive and inverse (negative) correlation between the Balmer emission strengths and the st...

Re: Rho Cas Activity
After more observation experience in the meantime, the focus of the evaluation of the monitoring has been changed. Above all, the behavior of the red and blue emission components has now come into focus. In the course of the previous spectra, their flux has clearly increased. rhocas_Halpha monitorin...

Re: 28 Tau ARAS monitoring
Thanks to the observers A. Stiewing, K. Alich, J. Martin and O. Thizy, it was possible, to cover with observations the for September 7th 2021 predicted periastron passage with the Halpha parameter EW, V/R, CA (central absorption, most typical) and RV. But further observations would be helpful in ord...

Re: NEW NOU_T ECHELLE RESULTS
Dear Joan, our professional colleague Philip Bennett is currently working on an in-depth analysis of the VV Cep system. The main goal is to define an improved orbit for the companion and to describe its actual spectral type as precisely as possible. For this purpose, the division of VV Cep spectra b...

Re: VV Cep evolution at low resolution
Hi Hugh,
sorry, you are right. The periodicity of 43 days of EW and line flux has been published in two paper, whereby its character have been described more in detail in the journal of AAVSO.

Re: VV Cep evolution at low resolution
Hi Hugh,
would you be so kind to send me a copy of the paper?
The reference 13 of that paper don`t mentioned the 43 day period of EW and line flux.
The discovery of this periodicity has been published only in the JAAVSO volume 48, 2020.

Re: HeI 6678 Campaign of gamma Cas
Some news: XMM and TIGRE observations were started on July 25th (G. Rauw, M. Smith, Y. Naze). The professional colleagues are currently working on this data together with our observations (spectra). In the sense of our further observations, here the current status of the primary spectra evaluation o...
