Hi Etienne, Hi Paolo,

Many thanks to you for your remarks. By comparison with your Alpy, Etienne, and the last Alpy spectras on the data base, I conclude I will have to work on a better resolution. For sure ! And maybe a better focusing directly on the science camera instead of guiding camera, as Paolo suggested.

I used my CCD Atik314L and selected bining 1 x 1 for this spectra.

But for my next try, I will have to wait a better weather. It is snowing at the moment in the Pyrénées mountains :)

Thanks again.

Salut Frederic,

Quel coin superbe !

It is clear here tonight but with a bright moon nearby so I am trying this (LHIRES 1200) This is a stack of 6x600s raw exposures.

The line is clear (very intense at blue edge) but the continuum is almost invisible.

Cheers

Hi Robin,
Excellent result on such a faint target.
Have you computed the 1D spectrum?

Here it is. (The SNR in the continuum is 2  )

Hello Etienne,

Here is my Alpy spectrum from 25th January. It is very noisy because this object is at magnitude 15.5 now. Most of the emission lines appear to have twin peaks, or look as if a higher resolution spectrum would show twin peaks. What could be the cause of this phenomenon?
What a fascinating object!

Hi all, congratulations for your spectra. My attempt tonight to capture the oxygen line in the NIR, as suggested by François.

Very noisy profile...

Nice ! I think you beat me on SNR. Good agreement so we know what is real and what is noise :-)

Hi Robin, the SNR seem to me similar but my exposure time was much longer. Maybe there was a balance between integration time and telescope aperture.

Clear sky!
