Re: New transcient, perhaps a nova
Hi,
This is the evolution zone Hbeta and Fe II, from 2017 07 26 to 2017 09 28.
Cheers, Joan.

Re: New transcient, perhaps a nova
Very good coverage and nive animation, Joan!
The evolution of the "nova" is very impressive and atypical
Update of the light curve with the second rise from ARAS data base http://www.astrosurf.com/aras/Aras_Data ... ct2017.htm: Evolution of some lines during the second decline:
H alpha. At the second maximum, the emission is very weak
This is the typical behavior of the lines during an oscillation, hightlighted by Mac Lauglin: during an oscillation the spectrum tends to regain the aspect it had at the same luminosity
H beta profile from the mast spectrum obtained by Paolo:
Interesting to see the similarity between the two main absorptions vr ~-430 and +460 km/s Very impressive!
Keep on the good work on this very peculiar event until the conjonction
François

Outstanding coverage of this "nova". Last news show that the nova is again rebrightening and is going into his third maximum.

Re: New transcient, perhaps a nova
Thank you for the information, Fran
A fantastic object! Uptade of the lightcurve and last spectra (Terry, Joan, Paolo, Umberto, Fran)
All the best,
François
PS: I can't access to the photometry of this nova from VStar. Any idea?

Bonsoir, la nouvelle a de nouveau gagné 1 grandeur. Afin d'évaluer la variation significative, placer le profil de ce soir et une comparaison avec le jour 02-10-2017.

Re: New transcient, perhaps a nova
Here is my last spectra of Asassn-17hx from my high altitude site:
Will try to shoot this with the LihiresIII if I can master it before this nova gets too low.
Probably will not shoot it again from dark sky site until its too low to shoot (Nov17 new moon).

Hi,
As it is seen in the graph of the Umberto. Halpha of the New Sct 2017, has been back in the maximum issue
Regards, Joan.
