South sky stars catalog (spectra)

Post by Jaroslaw Grzegorzek »

Hi,
My friend G. Duszanowicz has discovered AT2020ohg (now 15.7mag). Nobody has done its spectrum so far! I'd like to make it to help him. We used Star Analyser. There's 0.35m telescope so photo looks not bad. I'm looking for south sky spectra catalog (like Miles) for reference star. Is there something like this available ? Thanks for any help.

Congratulations on your official supernova classification ! The first with a Star Analyser and the first by a southern hemisphere amateur I believe

I am very envious of your dark Namibia skies !

Francois Teyssier's spreadsheet "Reference Star Finder" downloadable from this page covers the whole sky and includes MILES and other bright A/B stars with low extinction

Jaroslaw

great work on this one. Its really impressive - I had a crack it last night and found it challenging. Here is my (noisy) spectrum for comparison
